13 Steps to your new home

This assembly guide outlines all rules and recommendations that are critical to the assembly of our prefabricated brick panels, in order to maintain the same high quality standards during the build that has been applied during production. These ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and reduce your effort to a minimum. We will, of course, be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
Note – you can also download the complete assembly guide (pdf file) from our Downloads area!

1. Delivery
Your components will be delivered by specialised low-loaders. Smooth access to and from the building site must be granted and the space required to unload the delivery to available. Any road closures and / or usage of public highways & spaces must have been requested from the relevant authorities.

2. Assembly
The assembly plans provided form the basis for correct positioning of all prefabricated components. Having drawn the outline plan on the foundation using a string level, the individual panels can be positioned. Wall lengths, joints and wall numbers need to be marked on the string level.

3. Levelling the floor
The next step is to even out and level the floor – only a perfectly levelled floor will guarantee a perfect result.
Your level will help you establish the highest point of the foundation. Taking the highest point, the underlay is put down and measured. A minimum depth of 15mm needs to be maintained throughout.

4. Placing the underlay
Underlay is placed at a 10 cm distance from the respective inner walls; same applies to the door openings.

5. Elemente ins Mörtelbett
The prefabricated components are to be placed onto the mortar bed. The mortar must comply with the requirements of ÖNORM mortar group II (unless required otherwise for static reasons).

Caution:
When lifting a wall, always use a balancing cross-beam! You must not position yourself underneath a wall in transit!

6. Support bars
Two support bars are required when positioning a panel. Once in place, the walls are then positioned vertically (perpendicularly) and fixed.
The support bar is fixed to the wall with a hexagonal screw (M12). The wall is then fixed to the foundation / ceiling using plugs. The safety support is only removed once the installation of the wall is complete.

7. RedBloc Assembly Adhesive
Having assembled all panels the gaps on the inner and outer corner joints are closed using RedBloc assembly adhesive.

8. Finishing Corners
The inside of the joint is filled and finished with polyfiller at a width of 20cm min. A covering layer of glass fibre is worked into the putty. We would recommend to integrate special fibres into your finishing plaster layer.

9. Grate Cover
Grates can be fixed to your solid walls using angle irons. Alternatively, they can be fixed directly onto the components using RedBloc assembly adhesive.

Caution:
Prior to cementing the prefabricated ceiling an inspection is required to be undertaken to verify correct positioning and safety regulations of all wall panels.

10. Special **/Partition Walls
When installing partition walls, the entire structure needs to be taken into consideration in order to ensure optimum stability.
11. Windows & Doors
The usual guidelines should be considered for installing windows and doors.
12. Power Points
At the end of the production line, our walls already cater for all kinds of pilot drills (standard: 72mm in diameter)

13. Stairs
If you provide us with the measurements of your staircase, we can cater for the support bearers at production stage.
